Restructured WC/Soulless bat variation defense animation ( fixes #3215 )
...
There were two overlapping problems: 1) the branching was written incorrectly (due to combining top-level and [if] filters) and 2) the first [defend] tag getting merged with the base WC/Soulless defense animation.

Invert alpha animation for Shadow (bug #14503 ) ( #984 )
...
Another adjustment as part of bug #14503 . Idea is to make the Shadow alpha level spend more time between 0.6-0.8 instead of 0.4-0.6. So when the Shadow's Nightstalker ability becomes active at night time, the alpha level is mostly between 0.3-0.4 instead of 0.2-0.3, making it marginally more visible.

Revert failed attempt to fix slow/poison sounds

The fix failed because attacker/defender hits events are fired after the
attack animation has finished, not in the middle of it when the hit
occurs.

New Ancient Lich baseframe and updated animations by shadowm
...
This version of the commit removes the orphaned melee attack animation
frame, which is superseded by a 2-frame set. The 1.12.x version of this
commit keeps the file as a copy of the new melee attack animation frame
for compatibility with existing add-ons.
Animation WML and art reference taken from the existing L3 Lich.
