Redirecting check-config.sh output to a file puts control character
output into that file, which isn't helpful for reading.
Disable colorized output if either
1. NO_COLOR environment is set to "1"
2. stdout is not a terminal.

The contrib directory contains scripts, images, and other helpful things
which are not part of the core docker distribution. Please note that they
could be out of date, since they do not receive the same attention as the
rest of the repository.
