- <li>Log into the Proxmox web UI</li>
- <li>Select a storage from the left navigation pane to download the .iso to</li>
- <li>Select ISO Images in the left sub-navigation pane</li>
- <li>Download the elementary OS iso <a href="https://elementary.io/" style="font-size: inherit" target="_blank">Download</a> and upload it to the Proxmox ISO image library</li>
- <li>Right click the Proxmox node name > Create VM</li>
- <li>Give the VM a unique ID and Name > Next</li>
- <li>On the OS tab, Select the elementary OS installation .iso file, leave the Type as Linux and the Version as 5.x - 2.6 Kernel > Next</li>
- <li>Leave the defaults on the System tab > Next</li>
- <li>On the Hard Disk tab, set the Disk size to 30 GiB or more > Next</li>
- <li>On the CPU tab, set Cores to 2 or more and Type to host > Next</li>
- <li>On the Memory tab, set the Memory to 4096 > Next</li>
- <li>Leave the defaults on the Network tab > Next</li>
- <li>Verify the summary and click Finish</li>
- <li>Right click the elementary OS VM in the left navigation pane > Start</li>
- <li>Click console in the left sub-navigation menu</li>
- <li>The Install dialog should load automatically</li>
- <li>Select a language on the left, then click the Install elementary button</li>
- <li>Select a keyboard layout > Click Continue</li>
- <li>Choose whether to install updates during the installation > Click Continue</li>
- <li>Click Install Now then Continue to confirm the partitions</li>
- <li>Select a Region > Click continue</li>
- <li>Enter a name, computer name, username and password > Click Continue</li>
- <li>Wait while elementary OS copies files and installs</li>
- <li>Click Restart Now to complete the installation, the VM will reboot</li>
- <li>Press Enter at the remove installation medium prompt</li>
- <li>Login with the username and password created earlier in the process</li>
- <li>Click Skip All on the Welcome to elementary OS! dialog</li>
- <li>Welcome to elementary OS</li>
