<p><em>Shinobi is Open Source, written in Node.js, and real easy to use. It is the future of CCTV and NVR for developers and end-users alike. <h2>Install Shinobi</h2>

<ol>
	<li>Log into the Debian/Ubuntu device</li>
	<li>Run the following commands in a terminal:

	sudo apt update<br />
	# install software updates<br />
	sudo apt upgrade -y<br />
	# install pre-requisites<br />
	sudo apt install git -y<br />
	# clone shinobi code<br />
	git clone https://gitlab.com/Shinobi-Systems/Shinobi.git Shinobi<br />
	# change directory to Shinobi<br />
	cd Shinobi<br />
	# set permissions<br />
	sudo chmod +x INSTALL/ubuntu.sh<br />
	# execute the installation script<br />
	sudo INSTALL/ubuntu.sh</div>

	<li>Answer Yes (y) when asked to install MariaDB</li>
	<li>Input a password for the root MariaDB user account</li>
	<li>Answer Yes (y) when asked to install the Shinobi database</li>
	<li>Enter root when asked for the database user</li>
	<li>Enter the root password created earnlier when asked for the database password</li>
	<li>Answer Yes (y) when asked to start Shinobi and start it on boot</li>
	<li>Open a web browser and navigate to http://DNSorIP:8080/super</li>
	<li>Login with the username admin@shinobi.video and password admin</li>
	<li>Select Preferences from the top navigation menu</li>
	<li>Change the admin user email address and enter and confirm a new password</li>
	<li>Click Save at the top of the page</li>
	<li>Welcome to Shinobi</li>
</ol>
