- <li>Launch Virtualbox</li>
- <li>Create a New VM by selecting Machine > New
- <p>Name: CentOS 8<br />
- Machine Folder: C:\VMs<br />
- Type: Linux<br />
- Version: Red Hat (64-bit)<br />
- Memory Size: 4096 MB<br />
- Hard disk: Create a virtual hard disk now</p>

- <li>Click Create</li>
- <li>On the Create Virtual Hard Disk dialog
- <p>Name the virtual disk image CentOS 8.vdi<br />
- File size: 30 GB<br />
- Hard disk file type: VDI<br />
- Storage on physical hard disk: Dynamically Allocated</p>

- <li>Click Create</li>
- <li>Select the VM and Click Settings</li>
- <li>Select System > Processor</li>
- <li>Give the VM at least 2 processors</li>
- <li>Select Display</li>
- <li>Slide the Video Memory to 128 MB</li>
- <li>Select Network</li>
- <li>Set the attached to dropdown to Bridged Adapter</li>
- <li>Select Storage</li>
- <li>Click on the CD-ROM drive</li>
- <li>Select the disc dropdown to the right > Choose a virtual optical disc file...</li>
- <li>Browse to and select the downloaded CentOS 8 .iso file</li>
- <li>Click OK</li>
- <li>Make sure the CentOS 8 VM is selected and click Start > Normal</li>
- <li>Press Ctrl+C to cancel the disk check</li>
- <li>When the install dialog displays click Install CentOS Linux</li>
- <li>Select a keyboard layout > Click Continue</li>
- <li>Click the Installation Destination button</li>
- <li>Click the ATA VBOX HARDDISK to select it</li>
- <li>Set the Storage Configuration to automatic</li>
- <li>Click Done in the top left of the dialog</li>
- <li>Click the Network and Hostname option</li>
- <li>Set the VM hostname</li>
- <li>Click Done in the top left of the dialog</li>
- <li>Click Begin Installation</li>
- <li>Under User Settings, select Root Password</li>
- <li>Set a root password and click the Done button</li>
- <li>Again under User Settings, select User Creation</li>
- <li>Set a username and password and click the Done button</li>
- <li>Wait for the installation to complete copying files</li>
- <li>Once complete, Click Devices > Optical Drives > Remove disk from virtual drive</li>
- <li>Select Force unmount</li>
- <li>Click the Reboot button, the VM will reboot</li>
- <li>Welcome to CentOS 8</li>

- <li>Click the Applications button > Search "terminal" > Click Terminal</li>
- <li>Run the following commands to install updates

- <li>Select Devices > Insert Guest Additions CD image...</li>
- <li>If the installation autoruns, select Run</li>
- <li>Open the Files application > Select the Guest Additions Disc > Right click in the white space > Open terminal here</li>
- <li>In the Terminal window run the following commands
- <div class="codeBlock">sudo yum install dkms elfutils-libelf-devel<br />
- sudo yum groupinstall "Development Tools"<br />
- sudo ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run<br />
- sudo reboot</div>

- <li>Upon rebooting, you can now full screen the VM and the internal resolution will automatically change to match the window size</li>
