  82. <p>NOTE: This is a helpful exercise to get familiar with the XCP-ng user interface and terminology but is not recommended for production use.</p>

  84. <li>Download the XCP-ng .iso file <a href="https://xcp-ng.org/" target="_blank">Download</a></li>
  85. <li>Launch Virtualbox</li>
  86. <li>Create a New VM by selecting Machine &gt; New
  87. <p>Name: XCP-ng<br />
  88. Machine Folder: C:\VMs<br />
  89. Type: Linux<br />
  90. Version: Other (64-bit)<br />
  91. Memory Size: 8192 MB<br />
  92. Hard disk: Create a virtual hard disk now</p>

  104. <li>Give the VM at least 2 processors</li>
  105. <li>Check the Enable Nested VT-x/AMD-V</li>

  107. <li>Slide the Video Memory to 128 MB</li>
  108. <li>Select Network</li>
  109. <li>Set the attached to dropdown to Bridged Adapter</li>
  110. <li>Select Storage</li>
  111. <li>Click on the CD-ROM drive</li>
  112. <li>Select the disc dropdown to the right &gt; Choose a virtual optical disc file...</li>
  113. <li>Browse to and select the downloaded XCP-ng .iso file</li>
  114. <li>Click OK</li>
  115. <li>Select the hard disk dropdown to the right</li>
  116. <li>Click the Create button at the top</li>
  117. <li>Change the size to 500 GB &gt; Click Create</li>
  118. <li>Click OK to accept the settings</li>
  119. <li>Make sure the XCP-ng VM is selected and click Start &gt; Normal</li>
  120. <li>Press Enter to begin the installation</li>
  121. <li>Select a keyboard mapping &gt; Ok</li>
  122. <li>Select OK at the welcome screen &gt; Press Enter</li>
  123. <li>Select Accept EULA &gt; Press Enter</li>
  124. <li>Make sure the VBOX HARDDISK is selected &gt; Tab to select Ok &gt; Press Enter</li>
  125. <li>Select Local Media &gt; Tab to select Ok &gt; Press Enter</li>
  126. <li>Select Skip verification &gt; Tab to select Ok &gt; Press Enter</li>
  127. <li>Enter and confirm a root password</li>
  128. <li>Configure the network &gt; Ok</li>
  129. <li>Specify a hostname &gt; Ok</li>
  130. <li>Select a Geographic area &gt; Ok</li>
  131. <li>Set the time zone &gt; Ok</li>
  132. <li>Select Using NTP &gt; Ok</li>
  133. <li>Select Ok at the NTP server setup</li>

  135. <li>Select No at the supplemental packs installation screen</li>
  136. <li>After the installation completes, select Devices &gt; Optical Drives &gt; Remove disk from virtual drive</li>
