Given we usually call objects Foo{Object,Constructor,Prototype} or
Foo{,Constructor,Prototype}, this name was an odd choice.
The new one matches the spec better, which calls it the "Generator
Prototype Object", so we simply omit the Object suffix as usual as it's
implied.
The three major changes are:
- Parsing parameters, the function body, and then the full assembled
function source all separately. This is required by the spec, as
function parameters and body must be valid each on their own, which
cannot be guaranteed if we only ever parse the full function.
- Returning an ECMAScriptFunctionObject instead of a FunctionExpression
that needs to be evaluated separately. This vastly simplifies the
{Async,AsyncGenerator,Generator,}Function constructor implementations.
Drop '_node' from the function name accordingly.
- The prototype is now determined via GetPrototypeFromConstructor and
passed to OrdinaryFunctionCreate.
This is another major milestone on our journey towards removing global
VM exception state :^)
Does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin: updating
ASTNode::execute() to return a Completion instead of a plain value. This
will *also* allow us to eventually remove the non-standard unwinding
mechanism and purely rely on the various completion types.
This commit adds support for the most bare bones version of async
functions, support for async generator functions, async arrow functions
and await expressions are TODO.
Both at the same time because many of them call construct() in call()
and I'm not keen on adding a bunch of temporary plumbing to turn
exceptions into throw completions.
Also changes the return value of construct() to Object* instead of Value
as it always needs to return an object; allowing an arbitrary Value is a
massive foot gun.
We need both a GlobalObject and Realm now, but can get the former from
the latter (once initialized).
This also fixes JS execution in LibWeb, as we failed to set the Realm of
the newly created Interpreter in this function.
This removes all usages of the non-standard define_property helper
method and replaces all it's usages with the specification required
alternative or with define_direct_property where appropriate.
This makes the implicit run-time assertion in PropertyName::to_string()
into an explicit compile-time requirement, removes a wasteful FlyString
-> PropertyName -> FlyString construction from NativeFunction::create()
and allows setting the function name to a null string for anonymous
native functions.
SPDX License Identifiers are a more compact / standardized
way of representing file license information.
