Rather than try to lay out masks normally, this updates the TreeBuilder
to create layout nodes for masks as a child of their user (i.e. the
masked element). This allows each use of a mask to be laid out
differently, which makes supporting `maskContentUnits=objectBoundingBox`
fairly easy.
The `SVGFormattingContext` is then updated to lay out masks last (as
their sizing may depend on their parent), and treats them like
viewports.
This is pretty ad-hoc, but the SVG specification does not give any
guidance on how to actually implement this.
Painting command executors are defined within the "Painting" namespace,
allowing us to remove this prefix from their names.
This commit performs the following renamings:
- Painting::PaintingCommandExecutor to Painting::CommandExecutor
- Painting::PaintingCommandExecutorCPU to Painting::CommandExecutorCPU
- Painting::PaintingCommandExecutorGPU to Painting::CommandExecutorGPU
Separating the recorder list from the painter will allow us to save it
for later execution without carrying along the painter's state. This
will be useful once we have a separate thread for executing painting
commands, to which we will have to transfer commands from the main
thread.
Preparation for https://github.com/SerenityOS/serenity/pull/23108
This modification introduces a new layer to the painting process. The
stacking context traversal no longer immediately calls the
Gfx::Painter methods. Instead, it writes serialized painting commands
into newly introduced RecordingPainter. Created list of commands is
executed later to produce resulting bitmap.
Producing painting command list will make it easier to add new
optimizations:
- It's simpler to check if the painting result is not visible in the
viewport at the command level rather than during stacking context
traversal.
- Run painting in a separate thread. The painting thread can process
serialized painting commands, while the main thread can work on the
next paintable tree and safely invalidate the previous one.
- As we consider GPU-accelerated painting support, it would be easier
to back each painting command rather than constructing an alternative
for the entire Gfx::Painter API.
This allows applying SVG <mask>s to elements. It is only implemented for
the simplest (and default) case:
- mask-type = luminance
- maskContentUnits = maskContentUnits
- maskUnits = objectBoundingBox
- Default masking area
It should be possible to extend to cover more cases. Though the layout
for maskContentUnits = objectBoundingBox will be tricky to figure out.
This allows SVG mask elements to have layout computed, but not connected
to the main paint tree. They should only be reachable if (and painted)
if referenced by the "mask" attribute of another element.
This is controlled by the forms_unconnected_subtree() function on the
paintable, which (if it returns true) prevents the paintable from being
added as a child to what would be its parent.
The SVGContext is a leftover from when SVG properties were more ad-hoc.
All properties are now (for better or worse) treated as CSS properties
(or handled elsewhere). This makes the SVGContext's fill/stroke
inheritance handling unnecessary.
Previously, we did an evenodd fill for everything which while for most
SVGs works, it is not correct default (it should be nonzero), and broke
some SVGs. This fixes a few of the icons on https://shopify.com/.
This implements the stop-opacity, fill-opacity, and stroke-opacity
properties (in CSS). This replaces the existing more ad-hoc
fill-opacity attribute handling.
Since handling overflow: hidden in PaintableBox::before_children_paint
while following paint traversal order can't result in correctly computed
clip rectangle for elements that create their own stacking context
(because before_children_paint is called only for parent but overflow:
hidden can be set somewhere deeper but not in direct ancestor), here
introduced new function PaintableBox::clip_rect() that computes clip
rectangle by looking into containing block.
should_clip_overflow flag that disables clip for absolutely positioned
elements in before_children_paint and after_children_paint is removed
because after changing clip rectangle to be computed from not parent
but containing block it is not needed anymore (absolutely positioned
item is clipped if it's containing block has hidden overflow)
Since the layout_box of a SVGGraphicsPaintable is already casted to the
right type, the underlying dom_node was also always of the right type.
This triggers a warning on Lagom builds.
This patch adds a bunch of Paintable subclasses, each corresponding to
the Layout::Node subclasses that had a paint() override. All painting
logic is moved from layout nodes into their corresponding paintables.
Paintables are now created by asking a Layout::Box to produce one:
static NonnullOwnPtr<Paintable> Layout::Box::create_paintable()
Note that inline nodes still have their painting logic. Since they
are not boxes, and all paintables have a corresponding box, we'll need
to come up with some other solution for them.
